Toys

Newborns don’t need that many toys, yet. For the first few months newborns can only see in black and white and they can only see a foot in front of their face. That’s why high contrast books and toys are really great to capture their attention. I would read Julian the “Look Look!” book constantly, and he loved just staring at the illustrations.

Babies are also entertained by their own reflection! So, any toy that incorporates a mirror is a great idea, like the “Good Night You, Good Night Me” soft book.

Julian loved the mirror in the “Good Night You, Good Night Me” soft book. When he saw his reflection he would start cooing and try to reach for the mirror.

Plush Toys

Baby Briefcase I laughed at the idea of it, but it’s been the most useful Amazon purchase! It keeps all of the baby’s paper work organized and in one place. Ranging from hospital records, birth certificate, doctor summaries, and medical handouts, everything is stored in this binder. The first month after our baby was born we were going to the doctors office for lots of check ups and it was just really nice to have all that paper work in one location.
