Hello, I’m Dewi, the designer behind Ginkgo Gold. I know you’re probably wondering, ‘how do I pronounce her name?’ I get that a lot. Phonetically, it is pronounced “day-wee.” A name that originates from Bali, Indonesia where my dad is from. 

I am married to a pixel pushing surfer, who is also a UX designer. We met in college where we both were studying graphic design. He complimented one of my art projects, and I impressed him with my taste in music and we haven’t been separated since. We live in Southern California with our son, Julian, and our Belgian Mal mix pup, Kai. 

I’m new to lifestyle blogging. As a new mom, I wanted to create a space where I can share what I’ve learned, and document this new chapter of my life. 2019 is a year where I’m juggling my design profession, being a DIY crafter, a surfer, and now a mother. 

The story behind the name Ginkgo Gold is a little bit of a long one. (That deserves it’s own post). But in essence, it stems from my love of illustrating and designing paper goods that others hold dear. I love creating pieces that make people smile, or reminds them of a fond memory. My mission is to create “paper treasure.” Like my paper goods, I hope the projects and life lessons I share on this blog inspire you. And are a resource for you as you navigate your own journey in life and parenthood.
